A MUSICAL JOURNEY

Hi, I’m DeKlav, the musical alias of Greg Wit—a Silesian composer and instrumentalist.

My music draws on downtempo, nu-jazz, and chillout influences shaped by a lifetime of diverse musical experiences. I’ve performed with jazz bands, served as a professional church organist, and dedicated time to helping others grow their musical skills. For much of my journey, I worked behind the scenes—supporting others and refining my craft. With my recent album, I’ve stepped forward to showcase the rich blend of these influences and experiences in a way that feels true to my artistic vision.

For me, music has always been primarily a form of play. That’s why improvisation is so important to me. Life isn’t about being perfect, and neither is music. It’s about moments—messy, unpredictable, beautiful moments. In my new album, every song I produce is completely improvised and recorded in a single take, drawing from all the threads of my musical journey.

I think we often forget how to play in life. Society encourages us to strive for perfection, follow rigid rules, and always be polished and presentable. But when you let go of those expectations, something magical happens. You connect with your soul. You find yourself again.

Through my music, I hope to invite you into that space. Slow down. Let go. Rediscover the joy in imperfection. And maybe, like me, you’ll find that life feels richer when you let yourself play.
